The Dawn Harvest: Taif Rose

High in the mountains of Taif, Saudi Arabia, at an altitude of nearly 2,000 metres, grows one of the world's most prized roses. The Taif rose blooms for just 30 days each spring, and must be harvested at dawn before the heat dissipates its precious oils.
Each morning during the harvest season, families have gathered these delicate pink petals for generations. It takes approximately 10,000 roses to produce just 10ml of pure Taif rose oil.
